Communications

Communications is both a force multiplier and safety function. Communications team members are all FCC licensed Amateur Radio (HAM) Operators.

MIDSAR leverages Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS) by having it's own radio auxiliary club (KM3SAR). This permits more flexibility, and reliability in communications while working with cooperating agencies to provide unified communications per the ICS structure.

Along with providing a lifeline between command and field teams, Communications Team members are also Skywarn trained and monitor weather while in the field to give early warning to potential dangerous conditions.
